ALUMA Faith And Family

Biblically Based, Quality Content For Families, Homeschools, & Churches

Our Vision

We share a passion for reaching families with the Gospel of Christ. As parents ourselves, we know first-hand the lies our children are being fed through social media and entertainment on a daily basis. We desire to counter the world’s lies with God’s truth, so kids understand who they are, where they came from, what they are worth, & what their purpose in life is.

We are currently working on kid-focused projects such as ALUMA Kids Music (click here) Our songs are Biblically-based, quality music written just for kids, that parents will enjoy as well. We are also working on children’s books, & our first VBS Curriculum is in the works.

We believe our purpose is to help nurture families through entertainment and education, so they learn and know the Truth, and stand bravely for Christ.

How It All Began

In 2021, we met in an online group for songwriters called Songchasers. This community was started by Seth Mosley (Multiple Grammy Award Winning Songwriter and Producer for “For King & Country”, Newsboys, Kim Walker-Smith, Tim McGraw, etc.) to provide “Music City” culture and networking opportunities to songwriters who did not live in or around Nashville. In January of 2022, we had our first co-write together. Later that year, when Sarah was asked to write songs for her church’s VBS, with only 5 weeks to complete them, she asked Zelda to help write and produce the songs. This was the beginning of Aluma Faith and Family.

Sarah’s Story

Sarah Vetterani was born and raised in Upstate NY. Music has always been her passion and calling. She began performing in church at the age of four and composing music at the age of nine. Sarah wrote her first musical when she was thirteen and recorded her first collection of original music at sixteen. Sarah attended Word of Life Bible Institute in Schroon Lake, New York for two years. While there, she was involved in multiple traveling musicals and Ensembles. She then continued her Education at Philadelphia Biblical University (now Cairn) in Langhorne PA. After Graduating with her B.S. in Bible and B.S. in music Education, she taught at a small Christian School in New Jersey. It was there that she wrote her second Musical and had the pleasure of watching her Jr. and Sr. High students perform it. She also released her first self titled album – Sarah Janeen – during that time. She enjoyed teaching, but felt that God was calling her elsewhere.  This journey led her to releasing a second album – Alias – and focusing more on teaching private Piano and Voice lessons.

Sarah met her husband and eldest daughter in January of 2011 and they were engaged that same year. They married in November of 2012 and God blessed them with a second daughter in 2014. The blessings continued when a third daughter joined the family in 2017. Over the last 20 years, Sarah has had multiple opportunities to perform on many stages in many genres of music. However, her favorite thing to do is write songs that point others to Jesus and lead worship at her local church.

Zelda’s Story

Zelda grew up on a farm in South Africa. She came from a musical family, so it was only natural for her to start studying music early in elementary school. There she was involved in competitions, choir, theatre productions, and solo vocalist opportunities. Zelda grew up in a Christian home, but only began her own personal relationship with Christ at age 12. Almost immediately, she became part of her local church’s worship team, where she was mentored in leading worship and ministry.

Zelda has been involved in various ministries and singing groups, including studying guitar under Ricardo Bornman; a legendary guitarist in South Africa. She also recorded backing vocals and was involved in music video recordings for well known artists. At age 17, she released her solo debut CD, and then became part of a ministry group called Dunamis, traveling all throughout South Africa, ministering to youth at churches, camps, & schools, using dance, drama, and singing. At age 21, she became part of the staff at CFC International Johannesburg – a 12,000 member church – as a worship leader and youth ministry leader for 2 years.

There had always been a stirring in her heart to one day move to the US, and in 1999 the doors opened for her to do just that! Many moves, ups & downs later, she ended up on staff as a worship leader & vocal director at Cottonwood Church in Los Alamitos, CA. She served there for 5 years, until a surprise move took her to Minot, ND in 2008. There, unexpected friendships led to her meeting & marrying the love of her life in 2010. She now lives in Belfield, ND with her husband Mitchell, and their two kids; Zayne & Mizay.

Zelda strives to lead and equip others to pursue their dreams/calling, especially in the areas of songwriting and ministry.

“My deepest desire; in that whatever I do, is to love God, and love people! To leave a legacy of igniting others to pursue God’s presence, and pursue His calling on their lives.”
